The Word Exposed Advent Recollection

Took time off from my usual Saturday routine and attended the Word Exposed Advent recollection of our newest Cardinal, Luis Antonio Tagle. What is different about this recollection from the others is that not only was it centered on the advent and Christmas season, but also the topic presented at the Synod of Bishops last October which is the New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith. In this recollection we were able to get a glimpse of what went on at the Synod and what are the insights of the new Cardinal on the matter.

The organizers chose the Ateneo de Manila covered courts as the venue for the talk since the Church of the Gesu could not accommodate the number of people who wanted to attend the recollection. Frankly speaking, the said venue was jam packed. The venue, which is comprised of 8 basketball courts, was filled with different people: nuns, word exposed viewers, priests and ordinary lay people.

I am extremely grateful that I was able to attend the recollection. Truly, Cardinal Tagle is a breath of fresh air for the Catholic Church. May God continue to bless him and me he always be a good Shepherd to us all.

Here are some of the photos…

After every recollection, it is customary in the Philippines to end it with a mass.
